Legacy of Love, Promise of Hope

Some women simply fill a room when they walk in. Not with noise or fanfare, but with presence. With grace. With the kind of quiet authority that makes everyone stand a little taller. Patrecia Smith was that woman.

As a Vice President at Comerica Bank, she commanded boardrooms with professionalism and poise. As a matriarch, she commanded something far more important: the hearts of her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her. When cancer took her from us, when she was 52 years old, it didn't just leave a void in our lives. It left a calling.

Left Behind In Memory of Patrecia Smith exists because of that calling. Because no child should navigate grief alone. Because practical help matters just as much as emotional support. Because love doesn't end when someone passes: it transforms into action.

This is our legacy. This is our promise.

Unveiling Our Mission and Impact

Let's be honest: nothing can replace a parent. No amount of money, no program, no organization can fill that space in a child's heart where their mom or dad once lived. We know that.

But we also know that practical support during difficult times can make an enormous difference. When a child doesn't have to worry about whether they'll have a winter coat or if they can afford to go to college, they have more room to heal. They have space to grieve, to grow, and to dream again.

Our mission is simple but profound: to fill some of the void left behind when cancer takes a parent or caregiver. We do this through consistent, meaningful support that addresses both immediate needs and long-term goals.

Healing Through Community Support

Our 2026 Impact Goals: Filling the Void Together

The upcoming Inaugural Left Behind Celebrity Golf Classic isn't just a tournament—it's a mission to provide stability and independence for children who have lost a parent. Our current goals for this year’s funds include:

  • Seasonal Clothing for 50 Children: Ensuring 50 kids are fully equipped with both summer and winter wardrobes, removing a significant financial burden for grieving families.
  • Graduation Cars for 2 Students: Providing two high school graduates with reliable transportation to help them navigate their next chapter—whether that’s college or the workforce—with confidence and independence.

We Need Your Help to Reach These Milestones.
We are currently seeking sponsors to help us turn these goals into a reality. From our Bronze ($2k) to our Title ($10k) sponsorship tiers, every contribution directly funds these life-changing initiatives.
